Ariana Grande and Cynthia Ario were cast as Alphabet and Glinda in the film adaptation of The Wicked. The filming process of this work will start in 2022.
Universal Pictures announced a few years ago that Wicked was set to be a film adaptation of a musical theater of the same name by Stephen Schwartz. Now, the main cast of the film has finally been chosen, with Ariana Grande, a 28-year-old American singer and actress, and Cynthia Ariou, an English actress and songwriter, set to star in the musical. Chow, director of In the Heights and Crazy Rich Asians, is directing Wicked, and filming will begin in the summer of 2022.
