Australia only allows foreign nationals to enter

Australia has said it will significantly lift the ban on foreign nationals and make certain groups a priority.

Accordingly, skilled immigrants and international students, as well as citizens of Japan and South Korea, will be among those who are allowed to enter in the first phase, starting on December 1st.

Everyone who enters Australia must be fully vaccinated.

Since March last year, Australia has enforced some of the world’s strictest border controls, even on its own citizens.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison called the news “an important step forward.”

Under the new rules, which reduce border restrictions, visa holders can travel to Australia without the need for special permits.

From the beginning of December this year, Australia will allow foreigners to enter on a limited basis

The government expects about 200,000 passengers to arrive in Australia between December and January.

“Visa holders, including skilled workers and students, as well as refugees and those with temporary visas, can enter Australia under this program,” said Australian Home Secretary Karen Andrews.

He added that they must have a negative Covid test three days before arrival.

Fully vaccinated citizens of South Korea and Japan who also have a visa can also enter Australia without the need for quarantine.

In Australia, a phased reopening is on the agenda after meeting the general vaccination targets of more than 85% of people over the age of 16.

During the outbreak of the Corona virus and the ban on foreign travel, Australia’s economic dependence on foreign workers and international students was prominent.

Australia’s international education sector earned about $ 29 billion in revenue in 2019, making it the fourth largest source of revenue after iron ore, coal and gas.

Until recently, Australia barred its residents and citizens from leaving the country under a strategy known as the “Australian Castle”.

The policy has been praised for controlling the spread of the coronavirus, but it has also controversially separated families.

The Australian government’s strict policies finally eased in November, allowing vaccinated citizens to exercise some of their freedoms.

Australia opens its borders for the first time since the Corona outbreak

Australia plans to open its international borders to its citizens and their vaccinated families for the first time since the outbreak of coronavirus in 2020.

Since March 2020, Australia has enacted one of the world’s toughest border laws to prevent the spread of the corona, which even included a ban on Australian citizens leaving the country.

Australia’s border policy has prevented the widespread outbreak of Covid 19 in the country and has been praised, but on the other hand it has separated many families.

“It’s time to give life back to Australians,” Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said of the easing of border restrictions.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, more than 1,300 people in Australia have died from the disease, and the number has risen to more than 107,000.

Mr Morrison told reporters that people would be allowed to travel when 80% of the states in which they live had been vaccinated.

According to the government’s decision, foreign nationals are still not allowed to travel freely to Australia, but at the same time it has been announced that efforts are being made to “welcome the presence of foreign tourists on the country’s shores”.

Accordingly, in the first stage, those who have exceptional reasons, such as urgent work or visiting relatives who are dying, will be allowed to leave Australia.

Australians are also allowed to return to Australia and there are exceptions for non-Australians, but the government has stated that it has restrictions on the number of entries.

Tens of thousands of Australians and citizens are stranded abroad due to Australia’s strict entry rules.

According to the Australian Prime Minister, under the new laws, the 14-day mandatory quarantine will be replaced by the 7-day home quarantine, and this only applies to fully vaccinated Australians and people who are allowed to stay in the country.

According to the government, unvaccinated travelers will still have to be quarantined for 14 days in special hotels and pay $ 3,000.

Australian Airlines, Qantas, has said it will resume international flights a month earlier than previously announced. The company has been selling tickets to major destinations outside Australia since December 18.

The cities of Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne are currently in quarantine due to the outbreak of Covid 19, and this quarantine has led to a rapid increase in public vaccination rates in these cities.

The state of New South Wales, which also includes Sydney, will be the first state to reach the target of 80% vaccination in the coming weeks, and the state of Victoria, where Melbourne is located, will also have the fastest vaccination rate.

But states like Queensland and Western Australia have threatened to keep their borders closed to increase vaccination rates by more than 80 percent.

After closing their borders with the states where the virus was prevalent, the two states managed to reduce the infection rate to zero or close to zero.
