Reports of an explosion were heard in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, on Friday morning.
There are other unconfirmed reports that the city’s air defense systems have thwarted attacks by destroying several missiles and shooting down an aircraft.
The plane crashed into an apartment in the Darnitsky district of Kiev, a Ukrainian Interior Ministry official said.
Local reports indicate that a nine-storey residential building in Kiev caught fire.
The mayor of Kiev tweeted that at least three people had been injured, one of them in critical condition. He said the incident was the product of “fragments of a rocket.”
He added that the building had caught fire and was in “danger of collapsing”.
